The 2017 Newcastle Short Story Award, which is organised by the Hunter Writers Centre, is now open for entries of up to 2000 words. Submission are open to all Australians living here and overseas. The judges are respected writers Peter Goldsworthy and Maria Takolander. The winner and runners-up will be announced at a special event at the Newcastle Writers Festival on Friday, 7 April.
