BottomBronwyn Rennex is a writer, artist and arts professional, whose work revolves around pictures and words. She is currently undertaking a practice-based PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Newcastle.
She was a 2024 Visiting Fellow, and a 2025 Summer Scholar, at the State Library of NSW. She completed a Master of Arts (Research) in Creative Writing at the University of Sydney in 2021 and was awarded the Dr Colin Roderick Prize for the best thesis on a topic in Australian Literature. Her first book, Life with Birds: a suburban lyric was released by Upswell Publishing in June 2022. It was praised for its inventiveness and lightness of touch. Her poems have been published in Cordite Poetry Review.
She has appeared at Newcastle Writers Festival, Perth Writers Week and Rose Scott Women Writers Festival. Her photographs have been exhibited widely.
She has had a long career working in the arts. Until 2017, she was Co-Director of Stills Gallery in Sydney, where she worked with some of Australia’s most celebrated artists. More recently she has worked as an arts worker/ consultant in Arnhem Land and tutor in creative writing at the University of Sydney.
