BottomDael Allison has won national awards for poetry, essay, an unpublished novel and the International Wildcare Prize for Environmental Writing. Eleven poems exploring the life and work of Australia’s first modernist artist, Ian Fairweather, from her volume Fairweather’s Raft (Walleah Press, 2012) featured in an ABC Poetica soundscape in 2014. She also has three poetry chapbooks published and has recently submitted her PhD in creative writing, research on Newcastle narratives and as short story cycle focussed on the region to the University of Newcastle.
