Born in Sydney and bred in Newcastle, Dan Cox started his journalism career delivering newspapers as a teenager. He grew up in a very medical family but chose to study communications and marketing. Since then he’s worked in marketing and public relations for a Hunter-based charity and, for nearly 20 years, he’s been a broadcast journalist with the ABC. Away from work he’s a dog lover, rampant reader, intrepid traveller, event MC, wedding singer and coffee snob. And he’s obsessed with buying secondhand vinyl records.
