BottomGraham Akhurst is an Aboriginal writer hailing from the Kokomini of Northern Queensland. He is a Lecturer of Indigenous Australian Studies and Creative Writing at the University of Technology Sydney. He is a board member of FNAWN and Varuna. Graham is a contributing editor at Kweli Journal (NYC). He has been published in Kweli and J Journal for fiction and has been widely published in Australia and America for poetry and creative non-fiction. His debut YA novel, Borderland, published by University of Western Australia Publishing is out now. Graham was the recipient of the W.G. Walker Fulbright Scholarship, the Nomad Two Worlds Foundation Indigenous Arts Scholarship, and Australia Council of the Arts grants to support the completion of an MFA at Hunter College. He also has an Honours degree in creative writing and an MPhil in creative writing from the University of Queensland. He currently lives and works on Gadigal Country.
