BottomDr Katharine Gillett is a practicing midwife and a lecturer in Midwifery at the University of Newcastle. Katharine has spent the past ten years working across all areas of maternity care in a regional hospital in NSW and is particularly passionate about birthing and continuity of midwifery care. Katharine’s career trajectory has not been a usual one as before becoming a midwife, Katharine completed a PhD in Creative Writing and is the former director of the Hunter Writers’ Centre in Newcastle. Katharine is interested in life writing in health, creative reflection and medical humanities. Katharine is an editor on the 3rd edition of Australian Midwifery Stories.
