Meg Gatland-Veness

Meg Gatland-Veness is a high school drama teacher. She attended the University of Newcastle where she studied a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching.

Meg has been reading and writing stories for as long as she can remember. Equal to her love of words is her passion for championing local youths and fostering important conversation about issues facing young Australians today.

Meg was born in Milton, a small Australian town, and now lives on the Central Coast of New South Wales. When she’s not writing novels, you’ll most likely find her watching musical theatre or gardening.

Meg is the author of I Had Such Friends (2018), which was shortlisted for the ABIA Small Publishers’ Children’s Book of the Year in 2019, When Only One (2022) and What’s Murder Between Friends (2024).
