Paris Rosemont

Paris Rosemont is a prize-winning poet with newly released second collection Barefoot Poetess (WestWords, 2025). Her debut book Banana Girl was shortlisted by the Association for the Study of Australian Literature for the 2024 Mary Gilmore Award for a first volume of poetry. Banana Girl was also longlisted for the Poetry Book Awards 2024.

Paris’s poetry has won awards both locally and internationally, including first prize in the Hammond House Publishing Origins Poetry Prize 2023 (UK) and New England Thunderbolt Poetry Prize 2022, second prize in the Whitsundays Literary Hearts Award Poetry Prize 2024 and shortlisted for the International Proverse Poetry Prize 2023 (Hong Kong).

Her work has featured in anthologies and journals including Australian Poetry Journal, Bristol Noir (UK), FemAsia Magazine, Openbook Magazine (State Library of NSW), Rabbit Poetry Journal, Red Room Poetry ‘Admissions’, Sky Island Journal, Splinter Literary Journal, Verge Literary Journal (Monash University) and Written Off Literary Journal.

Paris takes delight in bringing her poetry to life through multi-disciplinary modes of expression, including theatrical performance. She has featured at events including the Red Dirt Poetry Festival 2024 (Alice Springs), Sydney Fringe Festival 2022-2023, Ubud Writers and Readers Festival 2023, and world premiere of Slam Messiah.
