BottomSally Egan (she/her) is a writer working on Awabakal and Worimi Country. Her writing is inspired by landscapes, flora and fauna. She is a keen reader and student of nature writing. With a rich family history in oral story-telling and poetry, Sally has a love of words, people and their stories. Her short story was published in the local Catchfire Press anthology, Home is the Hunter. She has been twice published in the Newcastle Herald Summer Short Story competition and she was a regular contributor to the ABC Open 500 words competition. Sally is also a member of a local writing group who meet regularly for friendship and fiction. She also has been an artist in residence at Lighthouse Arts on Whibayganba/Nobby’s Lighthouse through the Hunter Writers Centre and Port Authority of New South Wales. Sally has also participated at previous festivals as both a volunteer and presenter
