BottomMeryl Dunton-Rose’s debut novel A Patient Obsession will be launched at this year’s festival. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in language and literature, Meryl dabbled in creative writing. It was after finishing a Graduate Certificate in Writing that she plucked up the courage to write seriously. Meryl shares her solar-passive home with her husband, Graeme, and spends time reading, writing, and crocheting in both the beautiful mid-north coast of NSW and the south-west of England where their daughters live.
Newcastle Writers Festival would like to acknowledge the Awabakal and Worimi peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the festival takes place, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend this respect to all First Nations people attending our festival.
