Love to write but find it hard to find the time? Why not try microlit?! This workshop will help you write, edit and then submit a microlit piece (200 words max) to the 13th annual joanne burns Microlit Award (due 29 July 2023).
Facilitated by Helen Hopcroft, a 2022 and 2023 finalist, this workshop will explore narrative arc, structure and word choice to help you craft your most compelling entry. Please bring paper and pen, an attitude that this is serious play, and some prior musings, daydreams, research or questions about the word ‘remnant’. As part of the workshop, participants will be encouraged to read their drafts aloud, but this is not essential.

This workshop is presented by Newcastle Libraries in partnership with Newcastle Writers Festival.
