The Newcastle Writers Festival team is excited to announce that the following award-winning writers will be participating in the 2018 program:
* Bruce Pascoe, whose award-winning Dark Emu challenges the long-held claim that pre-colonial Aboriginal society was essentially a hunter-gatherer society.
* Louise Milligan, ABC journalist and author of Cardinal: The Rise and Fall of George Pell
* Best-selling thriller writer Michael Robotham, winner of the prestigious British Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger. Michael will also be appearing at a special NWF event at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre on 7 April.
* Inga Simpson, whose most recent book Understory: A Life With Trees explores the beauty of nature and her path as a writer.
The full program will be launched on Friday, 23 February, and tickets go on sale the same day. There will be further announcements in early 2018.
